Delta Loves Basketball - But Not Customers

When I read about Delta Airlines kicking paying passengers off of a plane so that a basketball team could use it, it really ticked me off.  Between this and many other incidents/crimes, it seems like the United States' worship of all things sports and/or celebrity has gone too far.  Combine this with the "entitlement generation" ("I'm special, can do whatever I want and laws don't apply to me"), I despair where society seems to be heading.

Delta, I will not be using your airline.  In fact, when we selected our upcoming flights (to somewhere off of the North American continent), we specifically excluded you.  We will give our hard-earned money to someone else.

I Am Humbled

Today Diana Nyad completed a swim from Cuba to Florida.  She is 64 years old.  64!  How many of us will even be swimming laps at 64?  It took almost 53 hours; it was her fifth try in 35 years.  This woman is truly amazing.

Some of Diana's words of wisdom from this article:
"We should never ever give up."
"You never are too old to chase your dreams."
"It looks like a solitary sport, but it's a team."

It seems that Diana is not just strong, but wise.  I salute you, Diana Nyad, and hope to be even half the woman you are!

If a Dog Was a Teacher

If a dog was a teacher, you would learn things like:

---When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
---Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.
---Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
---Take naps.
---Stretch before rising.
---Run, romp, and play daily.
---Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
---Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
---On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
---On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
---When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
---Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
---Be loyal.
---Never pretend to be something you're not.
---If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
